广州海运技工学校概况
广州海运技工学校是省部级重点技工学校，成立于1986年，隶属中国海运集团。是华南地区最大的普通船员教育和培训基地。建校以来为中国海运行业培训了七千多国际海员。
学校座落在广州市海珠区沥滘振兴大街5号（广轩大厦及南天商业城旁），占地面积18380平方米，建有办公大楼、教学大楼、实习大楼、学生宿舍大楼、学生饭堂等，建筑面积21918平方米，校园环境优美。
学校拥有车工、钳工、焊工、电工、汽车维修、制冷、数控机床、水工、木工等十四个基本技能训练场以及计算机、电子、电工、电力拖动控制、电导航等六个实验室，并有一批多媒体电教室及语音等专用课室，还建有机械设备拆装工场、模拟发电站、模拟机舱、模拟驾驶室、船员水上技能训练站、机械展示室、游泳池、室内外球场等教学训练场地。教学训练设施正朝模拟化、电教化方向发展。
学校师资力量雄厚，正式教职工共105人，其中有高级职称的教师17人、中级职称教师67名、研究生4名。专业教师都是具有丰富实践经验的专业技术人员。文化基础课教师大多数来自高等师范院校。
学校现在设有国际海员水手、机工、物流管理与船务（国际商务贸易）、自动化与机电工程、电工电子、制冷技术与维修、电子商务与网络技术、现代汽车维修与营销等全日制中等技工专业，在校生1500多人。除教学严谨外，重视学生思想工作和品德教育、管理严格是我校的优良传统。毕业生实行毕业证书和技术等级证书考证制。我校是广东省海事局"值班水手、值班机工"
培训、考试和评估定点单位，广东省经济贸易委员会的“广东省特种作业人员安全技术培训定点单位”、广州船级社CCS焊工培训考证点。校内设有“广东省安全生产宣传教育中心（广海技校）分教处”、广东省劳动和社会保障厅“行业特有工种职业技能鉴定站”
（可开展船舶水手、船舶机工、船舶电工、车工、钳工、焊工、维修电工和计算机维修等工种职业技能鉴定）。学校长年开设各种形式的培训考证班。

The Guangzhou Marine
Technical School (GMTS), a key provincial and ministerial leading technical
school which was founded in 1986, is affiliated to Guangzhou Maritime Transport
Group Co., Ltd of China Shipping Group. Nowadays, GMTSS is the biggest education
and training base for the common shipman. After the founding, GMTS has trained
more than 7000 international seamen for the China shipping industry.
The school is located at
No.5 Zhenxing Street, Lijiao, Haizhu District, Guangzhou. (Beside Guangxuan
Building and Nantian Commercial Center). It covers an area of 18380 square
meters with a total floor space of 21918 square meters, including office
building, teaching building, practice building, students’ dormitories,
canteens etc. The campus has an excellent environment.
The school has over 14
basic skill training workshops such as lathing, benching, welding, electrician,
automobile maintaining, refrigerating, numerical control machine tool,
seamanship and carpenter as well as six laboratories such as computer,
electronics, electrician, relay-control and electric navigation. Besides, there
are several multimedia classrooms, language laboratories and a great number of
teaching and training places, such as dismantling plant of machinery equipment,
simulated power station, simulated engine-room, simulated cab, seamanship
training station, machine exhibition room, swimming pool, indoor and outdoor
courts etc. The teaching and training facilities are developing towards a
direction of simulating and electronic education.
The school has a teaching staff of excellent quality; the
present faculty of 105 regular staffs includes 17 senior lecturers, 67 lecturers
and 4 post-graduates. The professional teachers are all specialized technical
personnel with rich practical experience, and most of the teachers for cultural
and basic courses graduated from high normal colleges.
At present, the school has
over 1500 students on campus and offers full-time secondary technical sections
containing International Seamen, Motorman, Logistics Management & Shipping
Management (International Commerce Trade), Automatization &
Mechanic-Electric Engineering, Electric and Electronic Engineering,
Refrigerating Technology and Maintaining, Electronic Business and Network
Technology, Modern Automobile Maintaining, Marketing, etc.
Apart from the strict
teaching attitude, the school also devotes much attention to the students’
ideological work and moral education, and strict administration is our excellent
tradition.
The school carries out two-examination system for graduates, one is Graduation Certificate and the other is Technique Grade Certificate. Nowadays, our school is authorized to be the designated unit for the training, examination and evaluation of sailor on duty and motorman on duty of Guangdong Maritime Bureau, the designated unit for safety technique training of special operation staff of Guangdong Economic Trade Committee and the training and examination center for CCS welding of Guangzhou Ship Classification Agency. Besides, the school has set up a Propaganda & Education Center Branch for safety production (the Guangzhou Marine Technical School Branch) in Guangdong, a Professional Technique Identification Station for Special Professions of Guangdong Labor & Social Insurance Department----Professional Technique Identifications includes Shipping Sailor, Shipping Motorman, Shipping Electrician, Lathing, Benching, Welding, Maintaining Electrician, Computer Maintaining etc. The school also offers all kinds of training and certificate classes for the whole year.
